The cleanliness is very excellent and well-taken care of. They took care of my mom, they make sure she was bathed, cleaned, and changed. Comparing the monthly median prices of semiprivate rooms in nursing homes, Pittsburgh’s costs exceed those of the average U.S. city by $1,369.
Saber Healthcare has been very instrumental in providing the tools we need. During the pandemic, Saber and our team have been phenomenal and are true super heroes! I honestly could say that if I was in need of a nursing facility for rehab or long term care for one of my own family members I would choose Caring Heights. I am very proud to say that I work at this facility and have been given the honor of working to make the lives of the residents better. The smiles on the residents faces could tell a million stories. Selecting the right skilled nursing facility can be critical to your speedy recovery.

My mom was at Caring Heights Community Care and Rehab. It's more of a nursing home because it's a rehab facility. They were able to take her to the PT gym to get her walking. She really likes the therapists, both PT and OT.

Some of these programs can make it easier to remain in the community and delay entry into a skilled nursing facility. They may also help seniors and their families understand their options and be financially prepared to better afford nursing home care when it’s needed. Nursing homes offer a high level of care for people who can’t be adequately cared for at home but don’t need the acute care provided in a hospital. These facilities typically have nurses and nursing aides on-site 24/7, and offer skilled care and therapies.

So unprofessional and disrespectful. Have your breath taken away as you travel up the Duquesne Incline. Children will get a kick out of the authentic car, the old photographs and artifacts in the upper station, and the ride up and down the mountain. Our Mother is in long term care with a heel fracture and has an Advance stage of Dementia.
Other than theft of money and clothing mix-ups it is still a good care facility. Caring Heights was nice and close, and the price was good, but they had dogs and the cats running around. They need a fresh coat of paint and some new furniture. In one of the empty rooms they showed us, the mattress was all sunken into the center and had a cat laying on it.

Over all, a dull, uninteresting place to live out your life. My mother is in Vincentian Home for rehab. Except for them being a little bit understaffed, which I understand is everywhere, I’ve been happy. She has a couple of little issues, but it’s her mental capability that gives her the issues, it’s not the actual facility.
The therapy room seemed fairly open. There is space for her to walk with her walker. For the most part, the tour was fine. She is in a hospital bed, and she is doing nothing on her own.
But it’s way out of our price range. They weren’t encouraging people to get out of their rooms or out of bed or anything like that. They don’t do that, they just kind of leave them in their room all day. But they’re also there for rehab and they’re not very mobile.
Like all places, the food was institution food. Some of it was better than others, some of it was terrible, and some of it is because she didn't like it. My mom was in quarantine the first two weeks she was there, and then she was put in with a roommate. Because the rooms were smaller, there wasn't a whole lot of room for her wheelchair in the room with the two beds, the night stands and the closets. The room was pretty tight, so it made it hard for her to get around.
There’s not enough staff working in the building. Staff is over worked which causes poor care to patients. Some great nurses; some nasty and uncaring. Inedible food; cold, bland, tasteless. Often ate at 430 with nothing later which caused a seizure in a diabetic. Bottom line, keep your loved one at home if at all possible.
Consequently, they tend to be the most expensive senior care option. According to the Genworth 2020 Cost of Care Survey, Pittsburgh’s average cost is $9,125, which exceeds the U.S. median of $7,756 by over $1,350 per month. Assisted living or home health care can be more feasible economically, and often as effective, for those who don’t need nursing home-level services. The facility seemed o.k.; I had two family members spend their last days here.

Spend some time exploring the outdoor jewel of Pittsburgh’s North Side. Riverview Park offers an extensive network of trails through its dense woodlands and dramatically steep hills for hikers, joggers, and the occasional horseback ride. Riverview is also home to the Allegheny Observatory, a space-themed playground, a visitor’s center, a swimming pool, ball field and many picnic areas.

They helped me out and gave me the aide that I needed. I would love to go back there again. I have no problem with anything that they did for me.
